I never expected my love of outdoors and Geology degree to lead me to a career at sea, but there was no resisting it. And I was fortunate enough to spend over a decade working with brilliant, creative-minded innovators and cutting edge geophysical technology.

Yet, during my travels I was horrified by the pollution in our oceans, as well as the sight of water-stressed cities in Africa, India and South America. So, I broke in my land legs gradually at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, studying Climate Science and Policy and intent on combining my new knowledge and my experience to help tackle these humanity threatening challenges.

Connecting and working with sustainable Ocean and Water technology companies, organizations and policymakers that share that goal is incredibly fulfilling and motivating. There are so many solutions that often people don't know exist! I love spreading the word about these so much I started the Wave Makers podcast. Introducing the companies and people behind them is one way I hope to help the market adopt them, improving lives and sustainable futures globally.

(Perhaps all this is not 100% altruistic... My impulses to swim, paddle boarding, SCUBA dive, surf, sail and hydrate depend on it!)
